DC Comics Rarities #2 Rounding out the top six is a novelty in that it's the only edition in the top six in which the previous edition was published THIS year. Despite the $75 price tag, DC Rarities obtained broad support. The second edition would likely include the first two anthology issues of All-Star Comics and the Wheaties Giveaway Comics from the mid-1940's. |
Below are the rest of the years results. Notice the usual clustering at the bottom of the recently published editions and with ever worsening performance, Plastic Man. DC's fast-tracking of this is mysterious to this survey, esp in light of it's lackluster sales in the Direct Market. The non comics market for this product must provide DC a particularly compelling argument.
