The Golden Age Aquaman
Earth-One
The Aquaman of Earth-One is the son of Atlanna of Atlantis and a lighthouse keeper named Tom Curry. As a youth, Aquaman began to manifest powers from his mutant nature including his ability to communicate with marine wildlife, prodigious strength and speed and an amphibious nature that required periodic contact with water (Adventure Comics #260). Unlike his reclusive Earth-Two counterpart, the Aquaman of Earth-One was prominent member of the super-hero community, founding the Justice League of America (Brave and the Bold #28) and becomes King of Atlantis. He takes a sidekick, a troubled kid named Garth who becomes known as Aqualad (Adventure Comics #269). He encounters Princess Mera from the "Dimension Aqua" (Aquaman #11) who he eventually marries (Aquaman #18). He encounter his Atlantean half-brother Orm who adopts the criminal code-name Ocean Master (Aquaman #29) and his sworn foe Black Manta (Aquaman #35). He fathered a son, Arthur Curry Jr (Aquaman #23) who is ultimately murdered by Black Manta (Adventure Comics #452). He ultimately becomes the leader of the Justice League when internal strife and competing priorities reduced the team's effectiveness (Justice League of America Annual #2). Affectionately known as "Justice League Detroit", the group lasted until the advent of the Crisis on Infinite Earths (Justice League of America #261) at which point the entire historical roster was called into battle. The final fate of the Aquaman of Earth-One has not been recorded.
Prior Earth-0
The Aquaman of the post-Crisis Earrth-0 timeline is Orin, the son of Queen Atlanna and the Wizard Atlan. Abandoned because of his blonde hair based on an Atlantean myth/curse, he found by a dolphin name Pom and left with lighthouse keeper Thomas Arthur Curry, who names him Arthur after himself. Aquman goes on a journey of self discovery, eventually fathering a son name Koryak with an Inuit woman (Aquaman Vol 5 #5). Aquaman eventually discovers Atlantis but is taken prisoner and his mother killed. At this point, he leaves Atlantis to adopt the identity of Aquaman. When the despotic government of Atlantis is overthrown, he returns to Atlantis and is named king (Aquaman: Time and Tide LS, The Legend of Aquaman #1 and the Atlantis Chronicles LS).
After this time, the Earth-One and Earth-0 histories of Aquaman are largely identical. After the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Aquaman goes through a series of person crises. In a battle with Charybdis, Aquaman's hand is destroyed by pirhana and he uses a prosthetic hook (Aquaman Vol. 5 #0). Mera, crushed beneath her grief at losing her son require institutionalization and they two periodically seperate. Aquaman enters a relationship with the heroine called Dolphin and Mera returns, revealing she has another son named AJ who may or may not be Aquaman's son (Aquaman Vol 5 #11) who grows up to be Aquaman in Mera's home dimension.
Aquaman receives a new hand made of water by the Lady of the Lake in the Secret Sea (Aquaman Vol. 6 #1). He becomes witness to a new undersea population when San Diego is hit by a tidal wave, killing thousands but selecting a sub-population that can survive under water. The city becomes known as Sub-Diego (Aquamn Vol. 6 #15-20). Atlantis is destroyed by the Spectre when the avenging spirit is manipulated by Eclipso. Aquaman's son Koryak is among those killed in the city's destruction (Infinite Crisis LS). Aquaman vigourously defense his realms but is broken in the process and while wandering the ruins of Atlantis, makes a dark bargain to become the Dweller in the Depths to restore much of his kingdom (World War III LS). He is later killed by Narwhal, a being thought to be his son Koryak in a different form (Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis #50).
During the Blackest Night, Aquaman is resurrected, first as Black Lantern and then his true self (Blackest Night LS). He then reconciles with Mera and takes up residence in Amnesty Bay. Together, they encounter a new Aqualad who is the son of Black Manta and rebel an invasion from the dimension of Xebel (Brightest Day LS). His later activities in this timeline are unrecorded.
Earth-3
The Aquaman of Earth-3 in various iterations is known as the Sea King. Virtually nothing is known of his history as the first records of his existence occurs when the Crime Syndicate of which he is a memory escapes the destruction of Earth-3 through a dimensional portal. For reasons unknown the Sea King arrives dead (Justice League Vol. 2 #23). His corpse is used by the magic of Nan Madol and entraps Deadman untl returned to death by John Constantine (Justice League Dark #25-27). In the current iteration of Earth-3, the Sea King lives again (Crime Syndicate #3).
Earth-10
The Aquaman of Nazi-conquered Earth-10 is a denizen of Atlantis. While Atlantis was originally on the side of allies, sabotaging U-Boats, the tide of battle shifted against them and they joined the Axis forces, either willingly or not. Aquaman is a member of Mastermen and is known by the German name "Unterwasserman" (Multiversity: The Mastermen" #1).
Earth-11
On the gender reversed world of Earth-11, Aquawoman is Ariel Curry, the daughter of a lighthouse keeper and an Atlantean King. She is a founding member of the Justice Guild and the multiversal super-team Justice Incarnate. Her full history remains to be shared (Multiversity #1).
Earth-12
The career of the Earth-12 Aquaman is thought to strongly resemble the Earth-0 version (Orin). Unlike his counterpart, the Aquaman of Earth-12 never restores his hand and retains the harpoon all of his life (Adventure in DC Universe #1). He eventually retires from heroics to rule Atlantis with Mera, having a daughter Mareena who joins the Justice League in the mid 21st century as Aquagirl (The Call, Part 1 animated episode. When Brainiac attacks Earth, Aquaman marshalls Atlantean forces in it's defense and is defeat by Brainiac, leaving him in a deep coma (Justice League Beyond 2.0 #15).
Earth-14
A murderous version of Aquaman existed on this world as a member of the League of Assassins. He was apparently killed by agents of Prophecy and is largely unknown (Superman Vol. 4 #15)
Earth-18
A steampunk version of Aquaman exists in the 19th century timeline and aided the heroes of his time against Lex Luthor and Vandal Savage of Earth-19. (Infinite Crisis: Fight for the Multiverse #12).
Earth-21
The Aquaman of this world bears strong similarity to the Earth-One version and is known to be a founding member of the Justice League of America on Earth-21. Nothing more is known of him (DC: The New Frontier LS.
Earth-22
The career of the Earth-22 Aquaman is similar to the Earth-0 version. Sometime before the 21st century or early into it, Aquaman left the surface world and devoted his time completely to dominion over the seas. When the surface world falls prey to the proliferation of undisciplined super-beings, Superman and Wonder Woman solicit his aid to imprison them beneath the seas. Aquaman declines. His later activities are unknown (Kingdom Come #2).
Earth-29
On the Bizarro World various forms of Aquaman have been incarnated and disincarnated several times. Whether any form is stable enough to establish much of a history is unlikely (Superman Vol. 1 #379, Superman Vol. 4 #44, Action #857).
Earth-32
On the merged world of Earth-22, Aquaman is merged with The Flash as Aquaflash. Nothing of his history is known (The Multiversity Guidebook).
Earth-50
The timeline dominated by the Justice Lords, Aquaman was never part of the surface world's super-hero community. When war broke out among factions of the Justice Lords and threaten the seas, Aquaman rose from the depths and demand the war end else he would flood the Earth. Nothing of his history has been revealed (Justice League Beyond 2.0 #18).
